GETTYSBURG Linda J. Kranias, 59, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, sur-rounded by her family. Born June 29, 1955, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of Betty Landis Shriner of Fairfield and the late L. Glenn Shriner. Linda is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ernie Kranias. As an 11 year old, Linda was a member of the "Fairfield Striders," a girls' track team that competed in meets nationwide, and was featured in a November 1967 article in "Sports Illustrated." She was voted May Queen and Best Personality of her Fairfield High School graduating class of 1973. Linda and Ernie have owned and operated Ernie's Texas Lunch in Gettysburg since 1981. She was involved in the community, supporting many charitable organizations, and she was an active supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness, participating in many local fundraisers. Linda loved photography and the beach, especially when looking for seashells at sunrise. Most of all, she loved her family. Ernie was her soul mate and best friend - her everything. Linda leaves behind her mother, Betty L. Shriner; and three siblings and their families: Ann E. Wright of Biglerville; James G. Shriner and wife Cheryl of Urbana, Ill. and Gregory A. Shriner and wife Susan of Williamsburg, Va.; three brothers-in-law: Richard G. Kranias and wife Susan of Kensington, Md., David M. Lutz of Gettysburg, and William E. Lutz and wife Linda of Knox, Ind.; nieces and nephews: Daniel A. and Lauren E. Wright, Marshall G., Clare V., Sarah E., Thomas G. Shriner, Sophia G. and Nicholas J. Kranias, Jennifer L. and Katherine E. Bye. A Memorial Service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Christ Chapel on the campus of Gettysburg College. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg and on Saturday at the Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
