Rautenberg, James Louis
God, in his wisdom, called James Louis Rautenberg to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 29, 2012. His family was by his side in Arizona.
James was born on March 4, 1946, in Fond du Lac, WI, to Louis W. and Ruby M. Kinsman Rautenberg.
He graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School and attended the University of
Wisconsin -Oshkosh, before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After serving his country in Texas and Washington DC, he earned a marketing degree at MPTC and began working at Mercury Marine.
James married Ann Breitkreutz on August 18, 1973, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. They were blessed with three children during their 39 years of marriage.
Recently retired, James enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting his grandchildren in Arizona, and being active in his church. He loved golf and baseball, and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan.
James is survived by his wife, Ann of Fond du Lac; three children: Daniel (Katie) of Fort Apache, Arizona, Sarah of Naperville, Illinois, and David, of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; four grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Roman) Swiss of Fond du Lac; brothers and sisters-in-law; two nephews, a niece, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a Christian man: chosen by God, loved and forgiven by Jesus, and brought to faith through the work of the Spirit. While we will greatly miss him here, we know that he is now part of that company of saints in heaven that testifies to the faithfulness and graciousness of our God.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac, with Rev. James Borgwardt officiating.
