Simon, Theodore E. "Ted"
Theodore E. "Ted" Simon, age 80 of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away Sunday morning (May 19th) at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on August 6, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Theodore A. Simon and Esther A. Olson.
Ted received his GED from the the United States Army, serving from 1949 - 1960. He boxed in his free time. He was a Korean War Veteran.
On November 1, 1952 he married Marcella E. Simon; they had five children together, and divorced. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2011.
He worked at Mercury Marine Company in Cedarburg and Fond du Lac for 30 years retiring as a supervisor in 1996.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, was a Master Gardener, Optimist, VFW member and loved to play cribbage. In his younger days he played in many Milwaukee area bands as a drummer and was an artist, farmer and woodworker. He was an avid Packer fan.
Ted is survived by five children: Mary Simmonds (David) of Maricopa, AZ; David Simon of Fond du Lac; Annette Blad (Partner: Timothy Olson) of Cascade; Sandra Simon of McHenry, IL, Sara Jane Simon (Significant Other: Isaac Minquiz) of Murray, Kentucky, as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He is also survived by special nieces and nephews: Mike Wisniewski, Gayle Bird, Valerie (Jerry) Houk, Roy (Cara) Tock and many other special family members and friends. His good friends:Bill (Louise) Johnson; Ralph (Elaine) Gerner and Jay (Jean) Koch.
Ted had three loving ladies in his lifetime: Marcella, then his second wife: Barbara Simon (married November 17, 1979; divorced) and his current life partner: Lucy Isham of Oshkosh.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Esther; two sisters: infant Jeannie and Viola Tock: two brothers: Donald Rush and William Simon; one brother-in-law: Harold Anderson; father-in-law: Harold Anderson; one grandson: Jerimiah Blad and his childhood best friend: Bob Van Matre.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, (June 2nd) at 2:00 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Thad Rutter Sr. will officiate. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 12:00 Noon on Sunday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
