Anderson, Ann B.
ANDERSON, ANN BRADLEY, age 85, of Fairfield, beloved wife of George H. Anderson for 63 years, died on May 20, 2013. She was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Robert F. and Grace Hyde Bradley. Mrs. Anderson graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas where her father was stationed as an army officer during World War II. She attended the University of Colorado and graduated from the Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston, where she was president of her class. Mrs. Anderson was employed by Sears for over twenty years in Bridgeport, Cincinnati, OH and Rockford, IL. Active at First Church Congregational in Fairfield where she was a deaconess emerita, Mrs. Anderson was honored in 2005 for her many years of service to the church. Ann was a 50 year member of the Eunice Dennie Burr chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served on the board for several years. She was also a former board member of the Southport Women's Club, Church Women United, AARP Chapter 1861 and the Fanny Crosby Home. She was a member of the Black Rock Yacht Club, the Scandanavian Club and a former member of the Contemporary Club. Ann had an exceptional memory for faces and names and always became the unofficial greeter for any organization that she joined. She was also an avid bridge player. In addition to her husband, Ann is survived by her children, Bradford and wife Deborah of East Sandwich, MA, son Roy of Boston, MA, and daughter Nancy Tyler, son-in law Tom and granddaughter Lindsay of Darien, CT. She is also survived by a sister, Constance Bradley of Waltham, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Robert F. Bradley and his wife Betty and her sister Elizabeth Kendall and her husband Henry. There will be a memorial service at First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Rd., Fairfield, CT at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 24, 2013. Spear Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private in OakLawn Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Road in Fairfield, CT 06824.
