FRANKLIN - Robert R. Bennington Jr., 80, of Franklin, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in his home. Bob was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Fayetteville, the son of the late Robert R. Bennington and Estelle Bennington Bartlett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Catherine; a brother, Ronald Randolph Bennington; and his stepfather, James E. Bartlett Jr. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on board the USS Saipan. Bob worked for Piedmont Airlines for 35 years and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his son, J. Robert Bennington of Franklin; grandchildren, Victoria Little and husband Ray of Montgomery, Ala., and Andrew Whatley of Gulf Shores, Ala; great-granddaughters, Reese and Reagan Little; his brother, James E. Bartlett III and wife Carol of Pleasant Garden; his sister, Barbara Puglisi and husband Bill of Annandale, N.J.; and special friends, Ken Shaffer, Michelle and Brett of Bumpass, Va. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Grace Presbyterian Church. Dr. Kenneth R. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the church, prior to the service. Memorial donations can be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church Building/Mortgage Fund, P.O.
