CENTERVILLE, MA -- Colombo Dante Piccolomini, of Centerville, died peacefully on July 28th, 2013 after a sudden illness. He was 81 years old.

Born on July 20th 1932 in Highland Park NJ, the youngest son of the late Elisa and Rocco Piccolomini. He grew up in Leominster, MA. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. While there, he traveled the world on the USS Iowa and was stationed in Norfolk, VA.

He graduated with a BS Degree in Business Administration from American International College in Springfield, MA. He spent the majority of his career as Sales Representative in the plastic resin industry for Foster Grant and Hoechst/Celanese Corporation. He traveled throughout the Midwest and the South during the 1970's, 80's and 90's. Dan enjoyed much success becoming an expert in the plastic resin and injection molding field. His career landed him in Winter Park, FL, representing General Electric Plastics Division, Polymerland, Inc. and finally owning his own Plastic Resin Firm called Century Thermo Plastics.

He enjoyed riding his bike, jogging, swimming, cooking, and playing tennis with his daughter Nancy and son Peter.

After retiring, he and his wife settled on Cape Cod in Centerville, MA. He spent his final years living a happy and healthy life. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping with his wife, trips to Portland, ME to visit his daughter, summertime on the beach in Hyannis with his granddaughter, long walks, reading and had a keen interest in world affairs and national politics.

He will always be remembered for being a person of strength and courage, a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Shirley Anderson, daughter Nancy Piccolomini, son-in-law Christopher McEvoy, son Peter Piccolomini, daughter-in-law Teresa Wingate, and granddaughter Anastasia Wingate-Piccolomini. He also leaves behind a sister Concetta Dandini.

PICCOLOMINI -- A wake will be held on August 1st at John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills from 9:15 am until 10:15 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 76 Wianno Ave, Osterville, MA 02655. Immediately following the mass, burial will be held at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
