of Leominster, Navy Vet; 66

LEOMINSTER -- Donald T. Lacouture, 66 years old, of Leominster, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol (Wood) Lacouture; daughter, Lynn Vachon and her husband, Jeff of Lunenburg; brother, Richard Lacouture of Leominster; grandchildren, Thomas Vachon of Fitchburg, and Jade Vachon of Lunenburg; and three nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Lacouture in 2001.

Don was born October 29, 1947 in Leominster, son of Vincent and Jeannette (Lamothe) Lacouture. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1965 and from the Devry Institute.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

He had been a electronic technician at Raytheon in Burlington for several years. Don enjoyed photography, woodworking, and playing golf. He also enjoyed going to the beach and collecting shells.

LACOUTURE -- Calling hours will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Sierra Club Foundation, 85 Second Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105-3441.
