Loving husband, father, grandfather
FITCHBURG -- Donald William Craigen, 57, died Wednesday, April 9, at home with his loving family at his bedside, after a long struggle with cancer.
Don leaves his wife of 29 years, Marlene M. (Boisvert) Craigen; one son, Christopher Paul Craigen of Fitchburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet Marilyn Craigen-Brunck and Matthew R. Brunck of Leominster; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven T. and June Craigen of Ashby, and Thomas M. and Catherine Craigen of Fitchburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Hamelin of Fitchburg; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Whipple of Gardner; and one grandaughter, Haleigh Maria Craigen of Leominster; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Don was born in Fitchburg November 17, 1956, the son of William T. and Janet M. (Lamb) Craigen, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1974. Don served eight years active duty and six years reserve duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Don was a professional welder and worked at Lamb's Iron Shop and several other metal manufacturing companies. He was last employed as a major appliance technician for Sears.
CRAIGEN -- Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation period for Don on Sunday afternoon April 13, from 3 to 5 P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. A funeral service will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home followed by burial with full Military Honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St. in Winchendon.
