LUNENBURG -- Edward J. Coffey, Sr., 71, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Highlands, after an illness.
He leaves his wife, of 45 years, Linda A. (Bombard) Coffey; one daughter, Kim Harlow, of Pepperell; one son, Edward J. Coffey, Jr., and his wife, Lori, of Lunenburg; four grandchildren, Alex Harlow and Shannon Harlow, both of Pepperell, Amberly Coffey and Joseph Coffey, both of Lunenburg; three sisters, Barbara Silver, and her husband, Manny, of Pepperell, Pat Jones, and her husband, Kenneth, of Worcester, and Kathy Paulauskas, and her husband, Steven, of CT; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edward was born in Worcester, on July 26, 1941, a son of the late Edward J. and Josephine (Miller) Coffey. He graduated from Worcester Schools, and then joined the US Army. Edward's service, as a Lieutenant, from August 14, 1958 until 1980, included two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He worked in the Electronics Industry; repaired TV's, and worked at the former Fitchburg State College for 10 years.
Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, science fiction, comics, barbecuing, homemade baked beans, working on his computer, and especially fishing.
COFFEY -- Funeral Services and burial will be held at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA, 01475 on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to meet at the Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. to proceed to the Cemetery. Calling Hours will be in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Mass Avenue, Lunenburg, MA, 01462 on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 5:00 -- 8:00 P.M.
