Francis "Frank" P. Zingarello Jr.

of Fitchburg; 85

FITCHBURG -- Francis "Frank" P. Zingarello Jr., 85, of Fitchburg, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in the Highlands after a brief illness.

Frank was born in Fitchburg on April 7, 1927, son of the late Frank and Bertha (Capone) Zingarello. He was a 1944 graduate of Fitchburg High School. During The Korean Conflict, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #429 and the Italian American Veterans. For 28 years, Frank worked for the former Crocker-Burbank, Weyerhaeuser, and most recently the James River Paper Company. He was the Softball Commissioner of the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) from 1962-1963. For 13 years, Frank was the Umpire in Chief and Umpire for, and the Mass ASA Vice President from 1969-1972. Most recently, he served on the Fitchburg Park Commission for six years. Frank will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and joke telling.

He leaves his three daughters, Lauren Ford of Fitchburg, Dawn Andreucci and her husband Dave of Fitchburg, Sheri Molinelli of Fitchburg; five grandchildren, Ryan and Connor Ford, Lyndsie and Kara Molinelli, and James Andreucci; a brother Rocco "Bud" Zingarello of Arizona.

Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Vivian L. (Johnson) Zingarello in 2010.

ZINGARELLO -- The funeral will be held in Twin City Baptist Church, 194 Electric Avenue, Lunenburg, on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Calling hours will be held in the Church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Missions Fund, C/O Twin City Baptist Temple, 194 Electric Ave., Lunenburg, MA., 01462.
