John F. Bouchard Sr., 78

SHIRLEY, MA -- John F. Bouchard Sr., 78, a resident of Shirley for many years, died Sunday, May 4, in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, in Brighton, MA, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 28 years, MaryBeth (Simpson) Bouchard; one son, John F. Bouchard Jr.; two daughters, Margo Amorelli, and her husband Marc of Goffstown, NH and Tammy Mota, and her husband Roger of Clinton, UT; one sister, Theresa Cuchiarra of St. Petersburg, FL; and 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Dean A. Bouchard Sr. in 2003 and a brother, Joseph Bouchard in 1997. He will be missed by his 4-legged kids, Molly and Jeter.

John was employed through the years by Red & White Movers of Fitchburg, Turner Machine Rebuilding of Lunenburg, Bergeron Machine Rebuilding, Niemie Manufacturing of Lunenburg, Minuteman Concrete of Nashua, NH, NITCO of Wilmington, MA and GE in Lynn, MA, where he retired from in 2000, after 17 years of service.

Mr. Bouchard was a member of St. Boniface Parish in Lunenburg. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, the Red Sox, Patriots, and U Conn Basketball. John visited the Family Café on Water St. in Fitchburg every day for breakfast to visit his best friend, Bill Gamache.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Specialist Third Class, during the Korean Conflict.

John was born on January 20, 1936, in Leominster, MA, a son of the late Rudolph Joseph Bouchard and Margaret (Scott) Read.

BOUCHARD -- His Funeral will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., Lunenburg, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, 817 Mass Ave., Lunenburg.

Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Thursday, May 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be held at a later date at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven, CT.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats, P.O. Box #142, Lunenburg, MA 01462 or to the Animal Haven, Inc., 89 Mill Rd., North Haven, CT 06473 or may be left at the Funeral Home.
