John Paul Saucier
of Fitchburg; 76

FITCHBURG -- John Paul Saucier, 76, of Fitchburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Barbara M. Saucier; four sons, John D. Saucier of Leominster, Jeremy K. Saucier and his wife Tara of Fairpoint, NY, William Green of Harrisburg, PA, Christopher Green of Leominster; two brothers, Norman J. Saucier and his wife Monique of Plantsville, CT, Joseph Saucier of Leominster; three grandchildren, Skylar R. Green of Leominster, Sidney G. Saucier, Samuel F. Saucier both of Fairpoint, NY; also many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

John was born on April 23, 1938 in New Canada Plantation, Maine, the son of the late David and Rhea (Toussaint) Saucier. He was raised and educated in Maine and served in the United States Army. Mr. Saucier was a resident of Fitchburg for over forty years and a member of the First Baptist Church. He worked as a boiler operator and licensed fireman for the James River Paper Company in Pepperell. John was an avid bowler and fisherman and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia.

SAUCIER -- A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 2pm in the First Baptist Church, 1400 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in John's memory to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.

The Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home and the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
