Mary (Moore) Creed, 64

LEOMINSTER -- Mary (Moore) Creed, 64, passed away peacefully at The Villages Hospice House in Florida, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, James M. Creed, mother, Elaine (Speckman) Moore of Clinton; three sisters, Ellen Lish of Leominster; Julianne Ryll & husband Robert of Clinton; Karen Mello & husband Anthony of Sterling. She adored her many nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She is predeceased by her father, former Clinton Fire Chief Thomas F. Moore.

Mary was born and raised in Clinton, attended local schools and graduated from the Clinton High School Class of 1968. She obtained her Masters degree in Education from Fitchburg State College and began her lifelong career as an educator. Mary taught Kindergarten in the Clinton Public School System for 14 years before accepting a position with the Fitchburg Public School System, from where she ultimately retired after 15 years as an elementary school teacher.

She enjoyed retirement with her husband in Florida, where she took great pleasure in the hobbies of reading and gardening. Talented in the arts of quilting and crocheting, Mary was most happy to present a homemade blanket to each of her nieces and nephews at birth. She held membership with the Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston and most cherished time spent in the company of her loving family.

CREED -- A Memorial Service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 11AM-12PM.
