WESTMINSTER -- Ralph A. Delmonico, 95, died peacefully, Sunday, December 8, 2013, at the E.N. Roger Memorial Veterans Hospital, in Bedford, after an illness.
Ralph is predeceased by his wife, Evelyn V. (Ciuffetti) Delmonico, who died January 8, 2009.
Ralph leaves his daughter, Donna Delmonico, Danvers; one grandson, Jason Fortier, and one great-grandson, William Fortier, both of NH.
Ralph was born in Springfield, on March 9, 1918, a son of the late Archie and Josephine (Demeo) Delmonico. He served in the US Army as a Staff SGT, from February 13, 1942 till June 20, 1945; he fought in the battle of the Bulge, and thru out Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Ralph received two Purple Hearts, for injuries sustained during combat, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement.
He worked as a draftsman, for 40 plus years, at Banner Mold and Die, in Leominster. Ralph was a member of the Sons of Italy, DAV, VFW, the American Legion, and St. Edward the Confessor Church.
DELMONICO -- Funeral Services and Burial will be private. In lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the, Bedford VA, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730, Attn: Voluntary Services, in Memory of Ralph Delmonico, for Unit 4B. The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA, is assisting the family with Funeral Arrangements.
