Richard J. Altobelli, 88
WESTMINSTER -- Richard J. Altobelli, 88, passed away on November 16, 2013 at Oakdale Rehabilitation Center, in West Boylston, after an illness.
Richard leaves, two sons, Dana N. Altobelli of Westminster, Stephen Altobelli of Hasbrouk Heights, NJ, two daughters, Mary Louise Altobelli, and Margherita Altobelli, both of Westminster, one grandson, Stephen Charles Altobelli, of Westminster, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard is predeceased by two brothers, Vincent Altobelli and Basil Altobelli.
Richard was born in Leominster, on December 16, 1924, a son of the late, Basilio and Mary (Delorenzo) Altobelli. He graduated from Leominster High School, and then served in the US Army in the 102nd Infantry Division, also known as the Ozark Division during World War II; he was wounded in combat on the French-German boarder in 1945. After the war he earned a Bachelor's degree from Clark University and a Master's degree from Columbia University's Teacher's College. During a varied life he was a teacher, newspaper publisher, selectman, stock broker and author.
ALTOBELLI -- A Memorial Service will be held on December 28, 2013, at11:00 a.m. in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions, may be made in Richard's Name to the, Clark University Annual Fund, 950 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
