GARDNER -- Richard H. "Sonny" Plourde, 74, of Gardner, formerly of Leominster, died Monday, January 21, 2013 in Baldwinville Nursing Home.

He was born in Fitchburg on January 8, 1939, the son of Louis and Marie (Bellivieu) Plourde.

He attended Gardner High School.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Dick worked as a fork truck operator at James River Paper Mill from 1966 to 1981.

He leaves four children, Dickie Plourde of Fitchburg, Donna Marasa of Aurora, Colorado, Daniel Plourde of Leominster, and Diane Plourde of Gardner; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

PLOURDE -- Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the , 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
