lifelong resident of Leominster; 89

LEOMINSTER -- The family sadly regrets to inform of the passing of Robert A. Lucier, 89 years old, of Leominster, died Monday, December 16, 2013 in River Terrace Health Care in Lancaster.

He is survived by his daughter Carol Dion and her husband Larry of Leominster, son Eugene Lucier and his wife Pamela Hopkins Lucier of San Jose, CA, brother Bernard Lucier of Worcester, sister Theresa Fournier of Florida, 2 grandchildren Donna Cormier of Ashby and Scott Dion of Leominster, 3 great- grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by his wife Glorianne (Belanger) Lucier, son Robie Lucier, 3 brothers Roger Lucier, Maurice Lucier and Donald Lucier and sisters Gert Brooks and Claire Davis.

Robert was born September 13, 1924 in Leominster, son of Otto and Mary (Roy) Lucier and was a lifelong resident. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater, under General George S. Patton, Jr. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Robert had worked as a machinist at Commonwealth Plastics then Paragon Plastics for 49 years and at United Comb for 5 years, before retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Leo's Church and the Franco American War Veterans in Leominster.

LUCIER -- A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 11 am in St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 21 from 9:30-10:30 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 36 Williams Street, Leominster, MA 01453. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
