Agnes Adele Story passed away on March 4, 2013. She was 87 years old. Aggie was born in Akron, Ohio on March 8, 1925, to Charles Joseph and Rose Azar Joseph.
She was predeceased by her parents, and eight brothers and sisters (Abe, Lena, Emily, Wade, Eddie, Phil, Curly and Mitch).
Aggie is survived by her two sons, Buddy (Nancy) and Rick; her grandson, Brian (Liz); great-grandson, Tyler; great-granddaughter, Bella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her first job was in a furniture factory in Akron. During WWII, she worked for Goodyear, making lifebelts and parachutes for the military. In 1948, she began her career in the data processing field, as a keypunch operator for Hughes Aircraft. After moving to Cocoa in 1956, she continued with this field working for Pan Am at PAFB. While there, she began taking night classes in computer technology at BCC, where she would eventually work.
She retired from Pan Am in October 1972, and started with BCC in February of 1973, in the Data Services Department. She continued her career for 28 years, retiring in 2001.
Aggie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, Saturday morning breakfast at the diner, people watching and anything with Tom Selleck. Enjoy!
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Merritt Island Moose Lodge on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 2:00 PM.
