David Mathews Glasser, Jr.

David Mathews Glasser, Jr. passed away on August 8th, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. David was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 28th, 1934. He was the son of David and Emma Glasser, Sr. David came to Florida with his parents in 1956. He worked for RCA at PAFB until he was called to serve in the military. He was stationed in Poitiers, France, where he met his future wife, Jacqueline Strafforelli. In the spring of 1958, David returned to Florida. He began his career at the Kennedy Space Center, where he worked for forty years. David and Jacqueline were married in June of 1962 at the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach, Florida. They made their home at Windswept in Cocoa Beach, where they raised their four children. Windswept was a place where their family and many friends were always welcome.
David is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his children, Natalie and Michael Hochman, Caroline and Mark Weed, David and Carmen Glasser III, and Valerie and Laitham Kellum; and his nine grandchildren.
David was strong in his Christian faith, and he touched the lives of many people. He was a kind and generous friend, a loving husband, and a wonderful father. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 3:00pm at the Riverside Presbyterian Church. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
