George N. Chandler

George, 82, was born in Lewisburg, Alabama on February 23, 1932 and was a long time resident of Melbourne, Florida. He joined the Air Force where he served a tour in Seoul, Korea. While in the Air Force, he took advantage of the opportunity to attend a trade school of his choosing, which prepared him to earn a living doing work he enjoyed. His work in the Aerospace Communications field brought him to Melbourne, where he raised his family and worked until retirement.

George passed away peacefully on April 24, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his sister Betty Haywood, three children; David Chandler and fiancé, Rachel Chang, Debbie Rivera and husband, Jose, Darryl Chandler and wife Mariel, 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, his longtime loving companion Emma Robison, and her children and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother, Dan Chandler, and his son, Dennis Chandler.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on May 10, 2014 at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 Palmetto Ave, with visiting hours from 1 to 2 p.m.
