James H. Dixson

Melbourne, FL

James H. Dixson, 81 of Melbourne, FL, passed away, surrounded by his family, on September 1, 2013.

James was born in McMinnville, TN, to William Tommy and Hassie Dixson. He grew up in Eau Gallie, FL, and married Dorothy Crees. He served 14 months in Korea during the Korean War with the U. S. Army and earned the bronze star with Valor. He loved cars and followed that passion ultimately purchasing and operating Eau Gallie Paint and Body shop. He retired from there and started a second career working at Patrick AFB on heavy equipment and retired from the Civil Service.

He is survived by his brother, Paul Dixson; sister, Nola Alverado; son, James Jr.; daughters, Candace Narmore and Theresa Kelly; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Thursday, September 5, 2013, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, services immediately following at 1:00 pm, at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home and Crematory in Melbourne.
