Joseph Earl Isom received the greatest gift from God when he inherited eternal life on January 13, 2013 at his home in Palm Bay with his family at his side. He was born January 27, 1931 in Autryville, GA to Joseph and Mary Jane Isom.
Earl graduated from Quitman High School in Georgia. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sally; and four children, Debbie Lucas and husband John, Mike Isom and wife Debbie, Nancy Holder and husband Steve, and Melinda Corns and husband Dean. Earl's children then blessed he and Sally with ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Earl is survived by his sister, Rosetta Milton; and his brother-in-law, Charles Reeves, who was like a brother to him and also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Charles; and one sister, Doris.
Earl served as a Fire-Fighter with Pan Am at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station for 41 years before he retired. His Christian faith was very dear to him and he gladly served in several churches. He was known to be one of the kindest men you would ever meet and would help anyone who was truly in need.
The Family would like to publicly thank Dr. Lee Scheinbart and assistant Jennifer. Shelia of Hospice Care and Ginny Browning of Inspiris.
A Celebration of life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Calvary Chapel of Melbourne's Viera campus which is located at 2852 Fellowship Drive (across from Viera High School) in Viera. Earl's request was that people dress casual.
