Kellie Shaw Killick

Melbourne, FL

Kellie Shaw Killick, 48, passed away at her home in Melbourne, surrounded by her family, at 6 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014 following a 2½-year battle with cancer.

Born July 10, 1966 in Miami, Kellie was the oldest child of parents Paul and Judy Shaw. She graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1984 and attended the University of Florida, where she received her bachelor's degree in journalism in 1991. Following college, Kellie was the editor of SeaBreeze Magazine on St. Simons Island, later she moved to Atlanta, GA, where she worked for Golf Magazine. In 1996, she married the love of her life, Tom Killick. She gave birth to their beloved daughter Leighton in 2003. Kellie reveled in being a stay-at-home mom, and loved cooking and volunteering at Leighton's school. She also greatly enjoyed traveling, especially annual holiday visits to New York City with family. Kellie was also the consummate hostess, with many fortunate friends appreciating her gourmet yet warm and welcoming entertaining style.

Kellie will be greatly missed by all of her family: her husband, Tom Killick; daughter, Leighton; parents, Paul and Judy Shaw of St. Simons Island, GA;, brother, Darren (Lorene) Shaw and nephews, Mason and Cooper, of Atlanta, GA, brother, Ryan (Midi) Shaw of St. Simons Island; uncle, Joseph (Syrita) Kuntz of Nampa, ID; uncle, Ronnie (Sandy) Shaw of Westlake Village, CA; aunt, Donna (Larry) Adams of Richmond, VA; mother-in-law, Rhoda Killick of Rockledge; brother-in-law, Alan (Holly) Killick and nieces and nephew, Ariel, Aidan, and Joelle of Melbourne; brother-in-law, Barrett (Heather) Killick and nephews, Brody and Kyson of Rockledge; and sister-in-law, Debbie Killick of Manhattan.
