Mark Alan Miller
Mark Alan Miller of Indialantic unexpectedly departed this life on December 22, 2013 at age 54. He was born in Chicago on November 22, 1959, and raised in Decatur, IL by his parents Dr. Robert and Doris Miller. He earned an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, where he went on to earn his Medical degree. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Brown University and his fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Pittsburg. He moved to Brevard County in 1992 where he practiced medicine for 22 years.
Truly loved, cherished, and adored by his family, Mark was the rock for his wife and children whom he held close to his heart. His legacy will be carried on by his wife Denise, son Zachary, daughter Morgan, mother Doris, sister Susan Miller Reedy, and nephews Cameron and Keegan Reedy. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Robert Miller. Although Mark is gone, his love and memory will forever live on in their hearts.
A lover of the great outdoors, Mark enjoyed everything about the water. He was an avid boater and loved spotting critters while scuba diving. He enjoyed travelling, sports, and photography, but he got the most joy from helping others. As a true "people person", he did everything within his power to help those around him. Due to his selflessness and altruism, many have said he was the most genuinely kind person they ever met.
Mark believed that knowledge provides people the power to open doors that would otherwise remain closed and wished everyone could have the opportunity to obtain a higher education. In keeping with this fundamental belief, his family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Take Stock in Children's Mark Miller Memorial Fund, where every dollar donated will be matched by the state to provide scholarships and mentoring to Brevard County students who otherwise would not have a chance to attend college. Checks can be made out to the Brevard Schools Foundation with "In memory of Mark Miller" written on the memo line and sent to 2700 Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, FL 32940.
To honor Mark and the joy with which he lived, the family is hosting a celebration of his life at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club on January 18th from 2:00-4:00 PM. It is expected to be a casual gathering where Mark's friends and colleagues can meet and share memories.
The family asks that friends please share fond thoughts, memories, and photos by sending them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
