Mark Kenneth Roberts

Sterling, VA

Mark Roberts of Sterling, VA, was born on July 4, 1959 to John and Judy Roberts in La Grange, IL. In 1965, his family moved to Satellite Beach, FL. Mark graduated from MCC High School in 1977 where he was Sr. Class President, and captain of the varsity football and baseball teams.

Mark graduated from Harvard University in 1981 with a degree in Economics. He began his business career immediately after graduation with Harris Corp. in Palm Bay, FL. Mark married Cindi Rothschild in 1981, in 1987 Jessica was born. The family moved to Washington, D.C. in 1988, their son Jared was born in 1989.

Mark had over 28 years of experience in government contracts having worked in private industry, public accounting and at a law firm serving as a consultant and litigation specialist. He was an accomplished educator/public speaker and served as an expert witness for clients in the aerospace, defense, construction, and healthcare industries. For the past two years, he served as Principal Partner at Ernst and Young.

In 1999, Mark married Lisa Corso. Moving over the years to CA, AZ, FL and VA.

Mark is survived by his wife Lisa, mother Judy AZ, father John and stepmom Pat OR, daughter Jessica DC, son Jared MD, sister Lee CO, brother Jim AZ, stepsister Kerry OR, stepbrother Jon CA, and other extended family. Mark was preceded in death by his brother John on April 30, 1989.

Mark will be greatly missed by the Miami Dolphins and his group of family/friends who frequently traveled with him to Dolphin games all over the country (and even to London).

A public memorial will be held at 11:00am on January 31 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA 20170. Donations can be made to MCC High School - M.K.Roberts Scholarship Fund. There will be a memorial service in FL at a later date.
