Michael Arthur Keegan
Michael Arthur Keegan, 53 years old, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born November 23, 1960 in Queens, NY and currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA.
Michael grew up in Bellmore, NY. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1978. He left the U.S. Air Force to finish his BA at Texas Christian University. He then joined the U.S. Army as a warrant officer and became a pilot. He flew Cobra and Apache helicopters on numerous combat missions in defense of our nation. Michael retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant and went on to receive his MBA from John Hopkins University. He was recognized by the Disabled American Veterans organization for providing over 500 hours of direct service to veterans in need.
Michael will be missed by his daughter Michaela Keegan, mother Eileen Connolly, father Thomas Keegan, sister Patricia (Richard) Pollaccio, brothers Brian (Mary) Keegan, Thomas Keegan, and Richard Keegan, his nieces Christina (Scott) Treder and Ashley Keegan, nephews Brian and Kevin Keegan, great-niece Caitlin Treder, aunt & godmother Dorothy Scharf, Aunt Ruth Albert, many cousins in New York, and special friends Lisa Tate and James Smith.
The viewing will take place Thursday, December 19, 2013 at North Brevard Funeral Home 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Mass will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 at St. Teresa Church in Titusville at 10:30AM, and he will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 2:30PM.
