Pierre A. (Pete) Tisdale, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) died July 1, 2012, in San Antonio. He was born January 29, 1922, at Ft. Sill, OK, the son of Capt. Henry E. Tisdale and Mary McCarthy Tisdale.

Graduated from West Point in 1944, he later flew B-17s, B-29s and B-47s before being assigned to missiles. With the Air Force Eastern Missile Range at Patrick AFB, FL, he directed the tracking-ship program, retiring from the Air Force in 1972.

From 1976 to 1989, he was an Associate Professor in the Aeronautics Department at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL. The move to Air Force Village II in San Antonio came in 2001.

Survived by his wife, Linda; four children, Ellen, David, Mary Price and husband, David, and Stephen and wife, Theresa; three grandsons, Clifford Tisdale and wife, Melanie, Eugene and Pete and two great-granddaughters, Justice and Kaya Tisdale.

Mass and Memoriam, Thursday, July 12, 2012, 8:30 a.m., High Flight Chapel, Air Force Village II, 5100 John D. Ryan Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78245. A police escorted procession will depart AF Village II for the cemetery at 10:00 a.m.. Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
