Robert Henry Marshall
Robert Marshall, 68, passed away March 12 at Holmes Regional Hospital, with his wife, brother, and sister at his side.
He was born Oct. 14, 1945 in Oneida, NY and grew up in nearby Sherrill. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Doris, and brother Frank.
He served in the US Air Force from 1967-1971, as a voice intercept operator (Mandarin Chinese). He later graduated from Kent State University, with a degree in Business Administration. An automobile accident in 1979 left him a quadriplegic. In spite of the challenges, he continued to live with good humor and a positive attitude. He enjoyed cruising, road trips, cooking, reading, and going to sporting events. He was an avid fan of Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Brevard County Manatees.
He was a member of the Central Florida Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, and at the time of his death was serving as a Financial Secretary for Advent Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Carol, sister Kathy Moss (Bill), brother Fred (Anne) of Melbourne, and brother Charles (Conni) of Burkburnett, Texas, and many nieces and nephews of whom he was most fond.
A celebration of his life will be held at Advent Lutheran Church in Melbourne on Saturday, April 5, at 10am.
