Roderick J. Pejsar
Indian Harbour Bch, FL
Roderick J. Pejsar, (Ret. Lt Col), PhD, breathed Heaven's Glorious Air on November 19, 2013. Pulmonary fibrosis may have taken his ability to breath on earth, but Rod now has God's Purest Eternal Air.
Rod was born in Western, NE on March 15, 1935. He attended University of Nebraska both before and after he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. He then joined the Air Force; during this 20 year career he obtained his PhD. He moved to Florida in 1993 to open a branch of his company ITAC and often worked with AFTAC at Patrick Air Force Base.
Rod was preceded in death this year by his beloved sister Barbara Linder and her husband Boyd, and his brother Dr. Gordon Pejsar all from Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jane Starling Pejsar; his daughters, Robin Pejsar and Karen Pejsar; and stepdaughters Missy Bodiford and Kristen Bodiford. "Daddy 2" was a wonderful step-dad.
Rod loved the Lord, and after retirement did missionary work in Moldavia. He was a member of Satellite Beach United Methodist Church.
Rod known as "Red Dog" to his Naval Academy friends, accompanied by his wife, was able to make his 55th class reunion in Annapolis in April 2013. Dave Gibson was a gracious friend to patiently help Rod during this last reunion.
He enjoyed golf and was able to bend the rules (driving to the hole). Thank you Dr. Pandy. He played as long as it was physically possible.
Over the years Rod sang in numerous choral assemblies both in Washington DC and in Melbourne, FL, last year with BCC and Dr. Lamb. He had a beautiful tenor voice and now can sing with great strength.
The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens is in charge of arrangements.
