Ruth Gannon

1937 - 2012 Obituary Condolences

Ruth Eliese Bell Gannon passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in Titusville. She was born in Warren, Ohio, on October 17, 1937 and moved to Titusville June of 1947. She attended Titusville Elementary, Titusville High School and the University of Florida. In May 1958, Ruth married James Munnis, Jr., and married Pater J. Gannon in November 1991. She worked in Family Business, North Brevard Gas Co., Mobile Home Parts and Supplies, Thompson Trawlers, Cadillac Gage and the Kennedy Space Center.

Ruth was a member of the BPO Does #183, Ladies of the Moose and the Eagles. She volunteered with Hospice of St. Francis for eight years and worked on the hospital auxiliary when it was first organized after the construction of Jess Parrish Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, golf and especially cooking for her friends and family. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed football. Ruth was a member in long standing of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church where she was active in many organizations of the Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick J. Bell and Florence K. Bell; brother, Frederick K. Bell; and husbands, James G. Munnis, Jr. and Peter J. Gannon. She was blessed to have five children, Brenda Munnis (Mark) Lanaris, Viki Munnis (John) Conrad, Debra Munnis (Andrew) Dailidonis, James (Suzy) Munnis, III, Michael (Leah) Munnis; two step children, James (Caroline) Gannon and Thomas (Yvonne) Gannon; twenty-four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Titusville.
