Ruth Sanderson Obituary
Ruth Elizabeth Sanderson, former Fort Morgan resident, passed away on July 30, 2014 at Avamere Care Center in Brighton, Colorado. Ruth was 95 years old. Ruth is survived by her brother, Robert Lambertson, her son Michael Sanderson, her grandsons, Forest Nealon, Aubrey Nealon, her granddaughter, Hannah Romero, and great-granddaughter, Emily Rose Rhodes. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was proceeded in death by her husband William Sanderson, her daughter, Deborah Weisbrich, her brother, Keith Lambertson, and her sister, Dorothy Leon. Ruth Lambertson was born in Littleton, Massachusetts on July 4, 1919 to Floyd and Esther Lambertson. Ruth graduated from Iowa State Teacher's College in 1941. After college she taught school in Iowa and then met her future husband, William Sanderson, while on vacation in Colorado. Ruth and William lived in Arvada, Colorado where they raised two children, Deborah and Michael. Ruth loved literature, and she wrote many poems and short stories. Ruth also enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, and nature. She was married to William for 46 years. Ruth and William retired in 1972 and moved from Arvada to Fort Morgan. After living in Fort Morgan for 29 years, Ruth moved to Kersey and then to Brighton to be close to her son, Michael. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Ruth will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband in Riverside Cemetery. At Ruth's request, there will be no public memorial service. Contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the Fort Morgan Public Library.
