DAVID ARTHUR LAMBERSON, 78, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2013. He had undergone a second heart surgery in August of 2013 and wasn't able to fully recover. Born Dec. 25, 1934, in a farmhouse in Fayette Country, Ind., he was a son of Arthur and Ethel Lamberson. He graduated from Purdue University in 1956 with a degree in Economics and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. David met Sandra Elliott while attending Purdue and they married on July 7, 1957. David was a graduate of the Navy OCS and served 3 1/2 years in the Navy Reserves. Following his service, he worked for General Motors, Warren, Ohio, for six years. David retired from Merrill Lynch, Fort Wayne, after 33 years as a financial advisor, and relocated with Sandra to Sarasota in 1999. David will be remembered for his ever-present smile, his dry wit, and his passion for the Purdue Boilermakers, college and NFL football, horse racing, golf, movies, and all things Disney. He loved walking Crescent Beach and watching the sunsets. Most of all, he will be remembered for being a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. David is survived by his wife, Sandra (Elliott); son, Ronald of Littleton, Colo.; daughter, Sherry Kegel of Johnsburg, Ill.; sister, Martha Pearcy of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an older sister and brother; and an infant daughter, Holly.
