EVERETT CHARLES ARMENTROUT, died on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. Born March 22, 1926, in Powes hiek Co., Iowa. he graduated from Olive Branch High School, in New Carlisle, Ohio. He served in the Army with duty in the Philippines with the Philippine Scouts. He then attended Cincinnati University and graduated from Dayton University with a degree in Physics. He did his post-graduate work at Toledo University and at John Carroll University, in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked at Frigidaire in Dayton as an engineer in the Future Products Division. He began with NASA in 1963. At NASA, he designed the first dynamic instruments to be used in the test of jet engines. Later, he worked on the instrumentation of the Atlas-Centaur rocket, the Space Shuttle, and Space Station Systems. During his working years, he accumulated 14 patents. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Scott Armentrout; a daughter, Brenda Armentrout of Angola; a son, Gregory Armentrout of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Gregory (Amy) Pond, Scott Pond, Gregory Armentrout, and Sarah Armentrout; seven sisters, Louise (Don) Cromwell, Joan Whitmer, Geneva (Stan) Harter, Ruby (Wayne) Crosser, Carole Bryant, Sallee (Glenn) Bartlett, and Diane (Garland) Salyers; one brother, Dennis Armentrout; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Rose. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 West Wayne Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, Ohio.
