FRANCIS E. "WAHOO" DIETRICH, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Saint Anne Home. Born Nov. 20, 1927, in Branch County, Mich., he was a son of the late Frank H. and Mary (Herman) Dietrich. He was a welder for Gerrig Trucking. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served on the Battleship Missouri. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 1421, the Tristate Gas Engine Association and the Maumee Valley Gas & Steam Association. He is survived by his children, Rosalie (Dick) Marley of Bowie, Md., Paul Dietrich of Craigville, Nicholas Dietrich of Ossian, Ruth MacLaren of Conroe, Texas, and Robert Francis Dietrich of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; half brother, Leonard Sosinski of Woodstock, Ill.; and half sisters-in-law, Anna Sosinski of Bronson, Mich. and Lorraine Sosinski of Kalamazoo, Mich. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Stein) Dietrich, in 1981; sisters, Alphia "Faye" Kiep and Mary Ann Dietrich; and half siblings, Florence O'Shea, Stella Condon, Ruth Buccellato, Joseph Sosinski, Marion Sosinski, and Harold Sosinski. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder (IN 46798), with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 3 p.m. Burial in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
