FRANKLIN E. FORSYTH, 83, of New Haven, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at Genesis Health- care, New Haven. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Alpha and M. LaVerne Forsyth. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a lifelong member of the New Haven United Methodist Church and life member V.F.W. Post 2457. Frank was also a member of American Legion Post 330, I.O.O.F. Harmony Lodge 14, and New Haven Alumni Band. He retired in 1995 after 40 years as superintendent of the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. He had been a longtime bus driver for East Allen County Schools. Surviving are his children, Becky (Kent) Notestine of Woodburn, Linda (Dave) Lewis of Ossian, Paul (Pam) Forsyth and Mark Forsyth both of New Haven; siblings, June Doty of Fort Wayne, Evelyn Schimmoller of Tampa, Fla., Phyllis Husband of Huntington, and Robert (Sharon) Forsyth of Constantine, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; son, David; and grandson, Benjamin Chiddister. Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 East, New Haven, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Riley Children's Hospital Cardiology Department in memory of Frank's son David. www.harperfuneralhome.com
