HERMAN PAUL FISCHER, 84, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Bowling Green, Ohio, Herman was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. He work ed as a Electrical Foreman with I&M then later AEP for 43 years. He was a member of Unity of Fort Wayne Spiritual Center. Herman's hobbies included bowling and golf, but his true passion was being a modest servant and serving others and volunteering at his church. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Fischer of Fort Wayne; son, Mark Fischer of Churubusco, Ind.; stepson, Mike Cruse of Houston, Texas; brother, Butch William Fischer of Augusta, Ga.; two granddaughters; one step grandson; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Herman and Ruth Evelyn Fischer; stepson, Stan Cruse; and sisters, Joahn Boice, Emily Mayer and Sue Smith. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Barry Vennard officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Unity of Fort Wayne Spiritual Center.
