DR. JACK L. BLACK, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. He was born April 3, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Mich. a son of the late Paul R. and Goldie Black. Jack was an Optometrist for 50 years in various cities in Indiana. He was a Navy Corpsman Veteran during the Korean War and a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Joretta Black; children, Gina (Bradford) Durham, and Gary Black; sisters, Judith Strate and Jean Boyles; grandchildren, David, Lauren, A.J., Ross, and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Hailie, Kylie, Matthew, and Landon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Black. Service is 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2132 Getz Rd. with calling one hour prior to service.
