JAMES E. HAYES, 90, passed away on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Parkview Hospital Randallia. Born in Fort Wayne, James was a police officer in Fort Wayne serving for 21 years until 1968. He also worked at Zollner Pistons until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of FOP, Associated Missions, and Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife, Helen Hayes; sons, Neil (Pat) Hayes of Fort Wayne, Bill (Ronni) Hayes of Nashville, James Hayes of Fort Wayne; daughters, Dorothy Kinzer and Becky Eder, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Marcie Morgan of Elmhurst, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Burgess and Ellen Hayes; and sons, Michael and Mark Hayes. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Father Ajay Tiru officiating.
