JEANNE E. SCHOUWEILER, 90, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a graduate of North Side High School and Michigan State University class of 1945 where she was also the Home Coming Queen. Jeanne was a member of or volunteered on behalf of the following organizations throughout her life: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana (received Champions of Hope Award 2012 for 50 years of service), Erin's House, Carriage House, Christ Child Society, Franciscan Center, Southside Child Study Club III, Saturday Club, Heritage Club, Embroidery Guild, Friends of IPFW, Friends of Indiana University, Junior League of Fort Wayne, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, PSI Iota Xi, Covington Creek Book Club, Cathedral Museum Shop, Fort Wayne Charity House Show Association, Fort Wayne Country Club, Sycamore Hills Golf Club. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. "She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and community volunteer. Her contributions to Fort Wayne will be truly missed." Surviving are her sons, David (Marie) Schouweiler of Fort Wayne, Stuart Schouweiler of Cedar Park, Texas; Scot C. (Julie, fiance') Schouweiler of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lisa (Ken) Burchard of Georgetown, Colo.; grandchildren, Ehren, Sean, Joshua, Laila, Kari, Hunter, Grant and Chad Schouweiler, Jason Burchard, and Nicole Beckler; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin in 1968; parents, George P. and Goldie Ringle; sister, Marian Rostad; brother, James Ringle. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, with calling two hours prior to service. Rev. James A. Shafer officiating. Private burial in Highland Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Cancer Service of Northeast Indiana, Erin's House, Carriage House or Visiting Nurse Hospice. Arrangements by D.O.
