JOHN C. CURETON, 85, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He was born June 24, 1929 in Newport, Tenn., a son of the late Hiram and Edna (Gregg) Cureton. John was a member of Brookside Community Church and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Zollner Corporation after 32 years of service as a machinist. After retiring he worked for the Kroger / Scotts Corporation for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Dora Rose Cureton; daughter, Debra (Lyle) Howard; sons, Timothy (Shawna) Cureton, and Joel (Terri) Cureton; brother, Charles (Joan) Cureton; grandchildren, Abigail Howard, Elizabeth Howard and Seth Cureton. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Clayton and Carolyn Cureton. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at Brookside Community Church, 6102 Evard Road, (IN 46825), with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 3 to5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at Brookside Community Church. Preferred memorials are to the Wounded Warriors Project, Latin American Mission Board or Fellowship of Evangelical Churches. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. www.covingtonmemorial.com
