KING M. "SULLY" SULLIVAN, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Peru, Ind., King worked as a firefighter with the Fort Wayne Fire Department for 33 years, retiring in 1993. He served proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Arcola, a member of the American Legion Post #296, the Fort Wayne Firefighters Local #124, and the 40 and 8 club. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Sullivan of Fort Wayne; son, Patrick (Amanda) Sullivan of Fort Wayne; son, Michael (Donna) Sullivan of San Antonio, Texas; step-daughter, Nanette VanRyn of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Brandi (Adam) Venderley of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Emilie Sullivan, Kathryn Gentz, Shawn Sullivan, Madalyn Sullivan, and Alex Sullivan; step-grandchildren, Mitchell VanRyn, Austin Cox, Alex Venderley, and Bailee Vanderley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sullivan; parents, John and Olive Sullivan; brother, John J. Sullivan; sister, Patricia Koenig; and grandson-in-law, Joel Gentz. Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at the funeral home with a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens.
