LAURA JANE KETCHAM, 93, died on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013. She was a longtime resident of Albion and was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Albion community. She graduated from Kendallville High School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University. She was married to Louis Ketcham on Feb. 14, 1942. She worked as a legal secretary for most of her life, primarily for her husband. Surviving are her sons, Dr. Robert Ketcham of Fort Wayne, and John (Suzanne) Ketcham of Westfield; her daughter, Kathleen (Dan) Spiro of Bethesda, Md.; her brother, Fred (Linda) McWhinney II of Kendallville; grandchildren, Michael (Erica) Ketcham, Dr. Cindi (Mark) McGarvey, Kirstin (Nathan) McMillen, Courtney (Joe) Worley, Ashley Ketcham, Ian Ketcham, Elena Ketcham, Hannah Spiro, and Rebecca Spiro; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Carrie (Heltzel) and Fred McWhinney I; her infant daughter, Sarah Kathryn; and her sister, Mary Cochard. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 605 E. Main St, Albion. The family will gather from 10 to 11 a.m. to receive guests. Memorials may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church or to LEAP of Noble County, 833 E. Main Street, P.O. Box 76, Albion.
