MIGUEL G. CARDENAS, 57, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in Fort Wayne. Born in Colima, Mexico, Miguel worked in assembly and in housekeeping with General Motors for 36 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of UAW 2209. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed weight lifting, running, dancing, and reading novels. Surviving are his spouse, Rosa M. Cardenas of Fort Wayne; mother, Maria Guadalupe Cardenas of Fort Wayne; daughter, Ellie Frauhiger of Fort Wayne; sons, Carlos (Tammy) Cardenas, Michael (Monica) Cardenas and Alex Cardenas, all of Fort Wayne; daughter, Guadalupe (Daniel) Nunez of Fort Wayne, grandchildren, Tyler (Alivia) Frauhiger, Tommy Waszczak, Steven Cardenas, Jason Cardenas, Brandon Cardenas, Isabel Nunez, and Daniel Nunez; great-grandchild, Addley Frauhiger; sister, Maria Guadalupe Cardenas; brother, Jose Angel Cardenas; sisters, Dolores Cardenas and Ema Adriana Cardenas; and brothers, Kury Sandro Cardenas, Gustavo Cardenas and Sergio Cardenas. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Heliodoro Cardenas; and sister, Virginia Cardenas. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at D.O.
