PATRICIA H. "PAT" DEWART, 85, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at home. Raised on a dairy farm in Westville, Ind., she was the daughter of Glenn and Ramona (Martin) Morgan. After graduation from Purdue University, she married David R. Dewart in 1950. She taught special education for the Fort Wayne Community School system until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Her volunteer work included women's and seniors' activities at church and Parkview Hospital. She enjoyed camping, bird watching, wildflowers, watching Indiana sports teams, and traveling. She is survived by her daughter, Mona Dewart (Warren Cartmel) of Fort Wayne; son, Bruce (Rita) of Gurnee, Ill.; three grandchildren, David Dewart, Amanda Fant and Ashly Fant; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Francis (Eloise) Morgan of Carrolton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; sister, Barbara Johnson; brother, Gilbert Morgan; and her parents. Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with calling one hour prior at the church. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at D.O. McCombs & Sons PIne Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road. In lieu of flowers, preferred donations to Interfaith Hospital Network or Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
