PAUL F. NIETER, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Lutheran Life Villages. He was born March 17, 1924 in Fort Wayne, and practiced Law in Fort Wayne for over 50 years. He graduated from St. Paul Lutheran School and North Side High School. He attended Idaho University and graduated from Valparaiso Law School in 1950. He served in the Army Infantry in Europe during World War II and received two Battle Stars. He was a member and past President of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, Ind.; past Board Member and Attorney for United Way of Allen County; past President of Lutheran Social Services; past President of Lutheran Life Villages and a member of the Board of Directors for over 30 years; past President of Valparaiso University Alumni Association and recipient of the Alumni Service Award from Valparaiso University; member of the Fort Wayne Bowling Hall of Fame. Surviving is his wife since 1948, Dorothea; daughters, Cathi (Tim) Galli of Dublin, Ohio and Cristine (Andy) Goeglein of Fort wayne; son, Dan (Beth) Nieter of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Bryan (Melissa) Galli, Jason Galli, and Stephanie Galli, Grant (Michal) Goeglein and Paige Goeglein, Ally and Maddie Nieter; great -grandchild, Taylor Richards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul C. and Hilda R. Nieter; sisters, Dorothy Thieme and Joan Knothe. "Go in peace thou good and faithful servant. You will be missed." Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave. with calling one hour prior. Rev. Michael Wakeland officiating. Visitation also from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. Entombment at Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Ind. or Lutheran Life Villages.
