RICHARD G. LEFFLER, 81, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Betz Nursing Home, Auburn. Born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Richard was a Korean War Army veteran. He retired as Vice President of Manufacturing for Cooper Industrial Products where he worked for 36 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Autumn Ridge Golf Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Cleveland Brown, Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Richard was an active volunteer for St. Vincent dePaul and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of 23 years, Patsy Leffler of Fort Wayne; son, David Leffler of Detroit, Mich.; daughters, Lori (Gary) Shuman of Indianapolis and Jenny (Greg) Shipe of Auburn; stepson, Michael (Helen) Krick of Medford, Ore.; step-daughter, Karen Bassett of Fort Wayne; sister, Jean Kelly of Marion, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Catheryne Leffler; and brother, Jack Leffler. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, with calling from 9 to 11 a.m. Fr. Mark Gurtner officiating.
