RICHARD LEE LAESCH, 72, entered his heavenly home with Christ on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Bloomington, Ill., Richard grew up in Loretta, Mich. before settling in the Fort Wayne area in 1963. A veteran, he was honorably discharged from the U. S. Marine Corps in 1963. Shortly thereafter, he was employed by Tokheim Corp. where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed volunteering for a variety of different organizations, including the American Cancer Society and the Shepard's House. He was a member of Grace Gathering Church, and perhaps his favorite hobby was spending time with family (including his church family) and friends, who he loved with an admirable faithfulness and devotion. He is survived by his wife, Terry of Fort Wayne; his brothers, Dave of Mt. Pulski, Ill., and Mike of Whitewater, Colo.; his sister, Ruthie; his son, John of Germany; his daughter, Gina of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren, Bailey and Morgan, of New Braunfels, Texas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy; son, Joseph; and his parents, Marjorie and Elmer Laesch. A Celebration of Dick's life and his lasting impact on others is 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at Grace Gathering Church, 3157 Minnich Rd., New Haven, Ind., with calling one hour prior at the church. Arrangements by Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, Fort Wayne, Ind.
