RICHARD LYLE PARKER SR., 88, died on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born June 25, 1925, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Carey Basil Parker, M.D. and Estal Mae (Cripps) Parker. He was a 1943 graduate of South Side High School, attended Purdue University, and was a United States Air Force veteran. He married Shirley E. Olson in 1946; she preceded him in death on June 6, 1985. He later married Margaret Ann Reynolds in 1988. He was the owner of R.L. Parker & Sons, Inc. in Fort Wayne until he retired in 1999. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Parker of Fort Wayne; sons, Rand C. Parker (John R. Kronenberger) of Mission Viejo, Calif., Scott W. (Cindy) Parker of Fort Wayne, and Jon O. (Susan) Parker of Columbia City; daughter-in-law, Barbara Parker of Fort Wayne; daughter, Christine K. Porter of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Michael (Susan) Moore of Chenoa, Ill. and Steven (Denise) Moore of St. Louis, Mo.; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Rick) Holmes of Overland Park, Kan.; seven step-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard L. Parker Jr. on Feb. 24, 2001; and brother, Jack Basil Parker. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 8010 West Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at the church. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials may be made to Risen Savior Lutheran Church.
