ROBERT DEAN ROWE, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born on Jan. 23, 1930, in Huntington. He graduated from Huntington High School and Indiana University as a Sigma Chi, serving as president his senior year. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and Air Force aboard the U.S.S. Hawk based out of New Orleans, he was wounded in the shoulder aboard ship by friendly fire. He was employed by Brown Shoe Company out of Chicago and Indianapolis. Owner of family businesses; Metoliod Oil in Huntington and then traffic manager for Union Oil in Los Angeles. Returning to Huntington as owner and manager of Brown & Rowe Shoe businesses and overseeing Rowe Industries after his father passed away. At that time Bob was involved in Dan Quayles congressional campaign and senate campaign, managing Quayle / Lugar office in Fort Wayne and then V.P. at Quayles office in Indianapolis. He was currently employed as a Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker Roth Werly Graber in the Coventry office. He had a great zest for life and will to golf at the Fort Wayne Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bette Sue Rowe. Funeral service is 5 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Pastor Rick Hawks officiating. Entombment will take place at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
