ROBERT NILE SCHLUP, 78, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in the Oncology Hospice Center in Fort Wayne. Bob was a lifetime resident of Fort Wayne and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean War. He worked at Zollner Pistons for 17 years, HVAC services for 10 years, and worked as the facility and grounds manager for various hotels, the American Red Cross and Fort Wayne Catholic Diocese for many years. He was an avid golfer at Cedar Creek and a sports enthusiast. "Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather." Surviving are his wife, Sharon Schlup of Fort Wayne; daughter, Kim (Doug) Heiser of Auburn; son, Thomas (Debra) Schlup of Fort Wayne; daughter, Sandi (Dan) Jones of Fort Wayne; daughter, Debra Buzzard of Andrews, Ind.; son, David (Susan) Buzzard of Plano, Texas; son, Greg Buzzard of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Jon William Schlup of Colorado Springs, Colo., Clifford Evean Davies of Oakland, Miss., Michael Edward (Rita) Davies of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Scherry Schlup Clark of Fort Collins, Colo., and Emma Davies Heim, Auburndale, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald D. and B. Mary Ellen; brother, Tom Schlup; and grandson, P.J. Gasparini. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Pastor Greg Krafft officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at D.O.
